Bucks are the best team in the L.

I remember they had a hot start and a lot of people were raving about how much noise they could make.

It never helps when your team is bad to start with.

    Btw, the Greek Freak:

1st on his team in point, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks (and all by a fairly large margin).

All that with a .608 TS%, which is only a couple percentage points from also leading the team.

His VORP of 5.9 leads the next closest by a mile, with Monroe at 1.6.

Might he be on his way to league MVP in a year or two?

Only 4 players in history have led their teams in all 5 categories: Dave Cowens, Scottie Pippen, Kevin Garnett, and LeBron James.

He's averaging 23.1/8.5/5.5/1.8/1.9. I believe the only other player in history to do that is Kareem.

Yes, if his team stops sucking.

The problem with having one guy do most of the production is that your franchise goes to hell if he gets hurt.

They are not nearly as top weighted as some other teams.

Middleton and Parker have both been great while healthy, but both were injured. Monroe has been great off the bench and is a 6th man of the year candidate.

    PERs:
    26.5- Giannis (22 years old)
    21.5- Monroe (26)
    19.1- Parker (21)
    17.9- Beasley (28)
    17.5- Middleton (25)
    15.1- Henson (26)
    14.4- Brogdon (24)
    13.1- Maker (19)

Thon Maker has huge upside. Another 7 footer with 3-point range. As a 19 year old rookie, he's shooting .423 from deep (22-52). His rebound and block rates are almost as high as Giannis.

As it stands right now, would you trade our core (Reggie Jackson, KCP, and Dre) for their core (Giannis, Middleton, and Parker) if the salaries and terms were equal? I would probably have to pull the trigger on that one.

Yes, but I don't want J Kidd and I don't want the Bucks ownership cabal. I want to keep Gores and SVG.

He has done an extremely good job of development with Giannis and Parker and has trusted 2nd round picked rookies to contribute when I doubt any other coach would have. He's probably still behind the average on technical coaching ability. But he was one of the best passing PGs and his defense and rebounding showed that he had heart. So, he will pass the credibility test with players in a way that a SVG never could.

I guess I'm saying that he has decent potential. But he's, of course, a bit of a schmuck.

I liked his sodagate-move and when he intentionally ran into Mike Woodson. The daily report duties for Larry Frank was pretty fun too.

Ran some numbers on the Pistons 1st Quarter blues. Stan's latest presser post-Jazz game he said he 'wished he had some guys who could hit their first shots'.
So I compared each players 1st Q with all their other Q's combined. Net difference in % shown at the end.

Projected starters to get us off to better starts:
    C - A.Baynes
    PF - J.Leuer/T.Harris (close)
    SF - S.Johnson
    SG - K.Caldwell-Pope
    PG - I.Smith

Funny when you look at it, we really only have 2 guys who shoot noticeably worse in the 1st Q - Drummond and Morris.

I'm surprised kcp makes 3s with the same frequency in q1 as the rest. Seems like he heats up late, but maybe that is just a couple games standing out.

Looks good to my inexpert eye test.

But how do we handle the emotional fallout from Dre and RJ when we start winning games without starting them?

Perfect if the other team also starts their bench.

Don't forget Morris. He started over Harris, because of his emotional makeup and would not take well with coming off the bench...hence, the ever passive Harris (our best player).
Dre, KCP and RJ should be gone. The bench was a good addition this year, which has not been the problem.
The eye test is an accurate barometer and most of the selected substitutions are from the bench. Does this tell us something?

Bottom line we got 33 wins on sheer gut and when our shots luckily went through the hoop. As I stated earlier this month, we needed 102 points to get 30 of our 33 wins and needed 95 points to get the other three. In other words, the way this season has gone, if we don't 40 points by halftime, the probability of a win is less than 10%.

No matter how decent or bad the defense plays, if we can't match the opponent offensively we are going to lose. (preaching to the choir I know :lecturer:)

Since we are in the bottom three in the league in both FT shots and 3 pt shots, the probability of getting out of the first round is less than 20%, let alone getting into the playoffs. We don't have any shooters and there is no spacing on the floor. Everyone who gets the ball wants to shoot...Dre, and Toby don't give it up once they get in the paint and Mo and KCP are reluctant to go the paint. Reggie can penetrate and is better when he takes it straight to the hoop...but when he brings it down slowly dribbling it between his legs etc, the movement stops, a bad forced jump shot results in a miss and the opponent is racing down to the other end for a probable score. Ish moves the ball a good pace when he is out there, but there stretches in almost every game where he brings it down and shoots without ever looking at anyone. He is streaky and will either hit 4 in a row or miss 6 in row. Luere?? The injury he had back in December changed his whole game on both offense and defense. He should be replaced too in the summer or at least moved to back up permanently.

I blame everyone....the players for playing selfish and not hustling, the coaches for not changing their habits (three years should have been enough to see an improvement for a couple of these guys, and the GM for not scouring the league for SHOOTERS in the off season or during the mid season breaks. Some big...Laimbeer, Buddha, big Ben or Lanier needs to be brought in over the summer to work with Dre. When he's not working with them, he needs to be hanging out with Billups learning the art of FT shooting.

D-Wade out for season. Still think Chicago will take the final spot?
