Actually, I am amazed how much Johnny Manziel looks like a young Darth Tater.
Seriously, Just look at Drath's pic with his wife.

For those of you that were getting your beauty sleep, the Lions lose as the Raiders score the winning TD with 6 seconds left in the game. Raiders QB Matt McGloin threw a 19 yard TD pass to a wide open Bryce Butler who was standing 1.5 yards deep in the end zone while three Lions DB's left him open. (I hope they were the 3rd string guys who will either not make the team or play on special teams)

The Raiders kicked the PAT to win it 27-26. Lion kicker Freese missed the 33yd PAT on the first TD of the game and that my friends was the difference in the game.

As usual the Lions were dogged by penalties ~ 11 for 74 yards and what appeared to be third string officials who made some questionable calls....including giving the Raiders a first and 10 ruling to a Raiders receiver who was obviously a yard short of the first down marker. That ruling eventually led to a Raider TD that closed a Lions 23-10 lead down to 23-17 and gave Oakland the momentum that carried throughout the rest of the game.

The Lions appeared to have dodged a bullet as another questionable call in the words of the Raider homies that were calling the game thought there should have been a personal foul on the Lions when the Raider receiver was popped at the goal line after he caught the ball with a helmet to helmet hit and the loose ball was recovered by the Lions in the end zone. But Lions QB Kellen Moore who looked decent last week had problems moving the ball tonight and they had to hand the ball back over to the Raiders with just under three minutes to go. A couple more Lions penalties and would look a Lions win as the clock was running out on the Raiders resulted in a tie and win with six seconds left of game.

Lions QB Dan O actually played better than Kellen tonight. Looks like Megatron will make his debut next week.

It was just so preseason and the starters look good so no real worry

Lions win their 2nd preseason game. Still...all we're doing this year is winning against easy competition.
Based on mistakes, turnovers, and the usual Suh late hit that was just unnecessary...I'm still feeling uneasy about the upcoming season.

Some good things came out tonight in this game

    (1) Ebron can catch the ball and he can get open.

    (2) Whitehead could have a break out year like Levy

    (3) Winn is the better back then Leshoure.

    (4) Broyles needs to play with #1 on offense.

    (5) Webster is a monster.

    (6) Osprey could make the team, he got a long look tonight. and he is impressive.

    (7) Jones and Johnson are really impressing me on the defensive line, were did Johnson come from!

    (8) Austin has some many different looks on the defensive line, This is going to one hell of a ride.

    My three takes:

    1. I agree, Whitehead could be a beast

    2. Bush and Bell are best two-back combo in NFL- IF BUSH STAYS healthy

    3. why WHY WHY shouldn't this team win more than 9 games?? BY POSITION, THEY ARE:

    QB--- B
    RB--- B
    WR--- A-
    TE--- B
    OG-- B-
    OT---- B
    C-- C

    D-LINE --- B
    LB--- B
    DBACKS-- C-

    K- B-
    P- B
    KR/PR--- B+

    COACH--- B

Reasons why the Lions fail this season...

The Lions have given up more 4th quarter losses in the last 3 years than anybody.
Too many mistakes still being made...fumbles, interceptions, bonehead penalties.
Stafford is exposed this season to be a below average QB...only looks good due to Megatron.
Three other teams in the NFC North will humiliate the Lions this year...we finish 0-6 in division.

    [expand] to see my grades.
Ford Factor -- C, the old man is gone
our C has been getting hi grades as of late
Austin should have the Dline and LBs balling
Caldwell will not let the QB lose road games, look how restrained he was with Flacco over the last couple of years.
