Well 2013 ended with a whimper and thusly the end of the Jim Schwartz regime. He couldn't stop the TOs.
Some say we should draft a WR with the 1st pick but I think that's the last thing a smart team would do.
I don't think our MLB made enough big plays. If we go best player available and a wicked hitter is out there take him. Maybe a LT and move Reiff to RT. I want a great Oline. Just because Stafford was only sacked 23 times doesn't mean he was making quality passes. Of course our secondary is soft as Charmin.
Special Teams improved 100% gotta like that.

The Lions coaching search reminds me of "Who's on First....?"

The only similar search is the one for a Pistons coach. The incompetence at the GM level is similar and
    the owners are clueless.

I become concerned to hear that our team has cap issues.
A team as inconsistent as the Lions should not have salary issues.
My biggest worry now is the fact that Stafford seems to have regressed.
Without Bush...we'd have been lucky to end 2013 with 4 wins again.
Too many big salaries on defense (Suh) based on results.
Still...one good coach could make us contenders.
Did we make the right coaching hire.
    We need locker room leadership.
    We need less mistakes.

The cap issue is because the Lions got caught with expensive first rounders before the new barganing agreement
came into effect. Stafford, Suh, and Calvin all cost way more than they would have now. Only time will fix that.

And Nemo, the proper word is FEWER mistakes. The word "less" is a mistake.

I'm just providing a little "locker room" leadership.

I'm very eager to see what this coaching staff can do with this talent.
If Stafford can only take us so far then the Dee must be 1st rate.
These teams need to get rid of the credit card. Forget that we averaged out a lot of Suh's contract, but for 1 year he is going to be worth $22M. That stuff goes straight to their heads.
With an 8% increase in cap we are not in big trouble but teams like Falcon and Brown have ~ $45M in cap space !!! We get second hand-hand me down FAs !!!

I keep thinking of the commercial "Great Taste...Less Filling"
Never liked the one that went..."Great Taste...Fewer Filling" :)

Time for the Lions to consider their draft needs.
Makes me wonder who they'd take with the 1st round pick.

Personally...I like OT as our 1st need.
Take Greg Robinson - Auburn, if available...if not, then Taylor Lewand - UM.

If they choose a CB in the 1st round...trade down and...
Take Kyle Fuller - VT, or Darqueze Denard - MSU

If they choose a WR in the 1st round...
    Then fire the GM

    "Less Filling" is correct.

I go into Walmart and try to change the signs that say, "20 items or less" to "20 items or fewer."
I even volunteered to climb a ladder with a marker and cross out the wrong word.
My goal is to change Walmart one store at a time. How's that going to work out?

I'm at a loss trying to remember the last time I might have done that. But then, I've been called a loser.

Big L little l. What begins with L.
Little Lola Lopp. Left leg. Lazy lion licks a lollipop.

Kind of like when I clicked on the "Trophies" link when visiting your fantasy sports profile. It returned a blank page.
