I've been in third place for three days now. This is great.
I'm still in 2sd
Hey folks...coaches, GM's and gamblers...less than fours left to get in on the second chance tourney.....looks like we only have got 8 entries...which is really small when we have over 940 members in this forum. With the season shaping up the way it has, the next excitement wont' be until the draft lottery and the actual draft...so get involved and join our bracket party
I am all in on my overall bracket, but just can't get excited about the 2nd chance idea.... Go BigTen
I didn't think Michigan would get past Kansas... I've to say I'm happy even if that screws my bracket.. really happy. My only "hope" now is Louisville.
Easier bracket than Duke's ?
Dre is the only one with Mich. advancing.
After having season tickets at the Old Crisler Arena for the 1977-78 season when they had Mike McGee, Joel Thompson and Alan Hardy leading the team you kinda got to have faith in some team that you are most familiar and is still alive...
Not only did the Louisville men's team overcome adversity, but the lady Cardinals upset favored Baylor and ended Brittney Griner's collegiate career.... Brittney Griner’s career ends a week earlier than expected with shocking Sweet 16 loss | The Dagger: College Basketball Blog - Yahoo! Sports The only question is...what NBA team will actually take a chance and draft her? The Jazz drafted Lucy Harris in 1976 and Anne Meyers signed a contract with the Pacers in 1979. Neither played, but Britney is probably a better player than either of those two and David Stern has already gone on record indicating he would welcome a woman declaring her services for the NBA draft. She would probably come in second in blocks behind Drummond if the Pistons signed her...
I sure NONE of you GUYS saw the Louisville-Baylor WOMENS game, but if you thought that the Bulls and Heat brawl-game last week was rough, the Lady?? Cardinals mugged and assaulted Brittney Griner on their way to the 82-81 victory. The # 1 seeded defending NCAA champion Lady Bears were down 19, but actually came back to lead by one point with less than 9 seconds to go, but one of the Louisville sluggers hit two freebies with only 2 seconds left on the clock to upset Baylor. The always congratulatory Kevin Durant invades their locker room to congratulate them and takes a few mug shots with them. ( Although I think he was really at the game to see Britney's Baylor team win....not.) I didn't see the game either, but some of the extended highlights on ESPN tonight made me wonder if Brittney can't handle the mugging of the Louisville girls, then she might not be able to fend off the MEN of the NBA.....but then again, I have never seen the any players in the NBA defend a player the way Louisville did.....one of the girls said in the post game interview that she had her hands in Brittney's face so much she could smell Brittney's tooth pace on her hands. You heard of triple teaming?? There were a few times when all 5 defenders were on Griner and everyone else was open. Oh yeah the Louisville women hit 16 three pointers.... OK that is this seasons women collegiate basketball report. I now return you to your regularly scheduled men basketball discussion...
I think Ilike my girls a little on the danty side. you know, so they don't mug me.
MONSTER WIN !!!
My bracket is heading towards the more familiar depths of the table.
I'm going to be honest.. I put Lousiville in the bracket but I was watching the game tonight and rooting for Michigan. I feel the love for the city even If I never been there. It's weird, I know. Anyway.. I end up 3rd in the Bracket. Couldn't repeat but at least I make the podium, lol!
I came in 6th in the regular tourney and first in the second chance...had Michigan beating Louisville, it didn't happen, but just getting the two in the championship game was enough to hold off Nemo....
Decided to stick this one here to close out the thread....another reason why the NCAA thinks too much about how to make sure no one gets an extra nickel First they said the men's team could not travel to New Orleans with their coach to cheer on their school mate lady Carndinals attempt to duplicate their win, but at the last minute, they change their minds... NCAA gives Louisville men permission to attend women’s title game, but it’s too little, too late | The Dagger - Yahoo! Sports
Once you allow one school to provide an "improper benefit," than you have opened up a can of worms.
Open that can a little more and maybe some student athletes stick around campus for some of those benefits..
Well, ... lookie here! The cream has risen to the top and Roscoe and I are the winners! Isn't it amazing how knowledge and age win out. Better luck next year. P.S. The commissioner hasn't bothered to show up with our trophy, yet. Maybe it's in the mail.
