Anything is an upgrade over what we have now. A perpetually concussed first-rounder, a journeyman with a brain tumor, and a second rounder who tore his ACL before his rookie season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When Bush is on he is a monster! Can you imagine a healthy Bush complimenting Calvin with Matt Stafford the quarterback. Hmmm. By the way, when is our fantasy draft being held?
wow, that seems dirt cheap. He must really wanna be here... "It's a running back's dream," Bush said during his introductory press conference. "The first thing we talked about, we're watching film, seeing those safeties deep ... it's a running back's dream. We have to be able to run the ball in that situation. That's part of the reason I wanted to come here and be part of a balanced attack and take the pressure off Calvin Johnson and Matthew Stafford."
The two best offensive lineman are Joeckel and Fisher from CMU. Joeckel is projected to go #1 to Kansas City. Some drafts think new coach Andy Reid will do this especially if he can get Nick Foles from the Eagles (they have inquired about him since Reid drafted him in Philadelphia last season). Otherwise the Chiefs could go for Quarterback Geno Smith). So if Joeckel is there at #4 the Eagles will likely be thrilled to jump on him. Fisher is worthy of a top 10 pick but isn't the prize Joeckel is. Bottom line. The Eagles take Joeckel if available or if not available likely Fisher or Cornerback Sims. The #5 Lions will then get one of those 3 guys (Joeckel, Fisher, or Sims) the #4 Eagles don't take. The Eagles, like the Lions desperately need to upgrade both the Offensive line and the Cornerback positions. The Lions sucked as bad as the Eagles, but lost a lottery so they draft afterward. However they Did get to draft ahead of another sucky team or two in the 1st round. If I recall, the number three pick equally sucky team won the first lottery but they are likely looking for different positions with their initial choice. Same with the number two picker. So the Lions likely only need to worry about the Chiefs and the Eagles. Regardless, they should end up with a great player.
I think we paid fairly high for 2 solid but average guys in Jason Jones and Grover Guin. Jason J is a 6'5" 275 lb. DE but only averages 3-5 sacks a season stays healthy though. Grover Q is a 6' 207 lb. 4.5 sec. 40 Safety, very few Ints. these are not the explosive players Mayhew is looking for.
Lions still need a complementary WR......... Look for them to take Darrius Heyward-Bey of Da Raiders............
Lions signed this guy !!!!!!!!!!!!1 Havard ‘Kickalicious’ Rugland signs with the Detroit Lions | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo! Sports
That last stunt is awesome. If the guy actually has as much control as appears we might see a lot more random onside kicks this season. The guy is 6'2" 240#...more like a rugby player than a soccer player.
I wonder if he can hold the wind with some intentional slices and hooks. Should be interesting to watch.
I'm not very good at holding the wind. I guess that's why those guys make the big bucks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
usually i can hold my wind in public. can't say i've heard that jargon. i was thinking , how excited can i get about a kicker ? well let me watch it........!!!!!!! i think he needed a couple of takes for some of those.
You have a point there, Fred Flintstone. But everyone got the gist of it, despite my apparent ignorance. I'm really wondering. Who do you guys want...or don't you care? The draft is in a few days my team sucked too. But I'm excited.
