The George injury drops the Pacers from a 48-win team to a 37-win team....which is still good enough for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

A little harsh, but he did have eight years with us. A lot of hidden talent that he personally never worked hard to bring out. The coaching and dissolving administration perceptions about meshing talent (and acquiring it from a previous championship team) were equally the blame. He has a new start and I might be the only one here that might see an improvement from his end.

From What I've read, he suffered a clean break.
It's entirely possible that PG could be back in time to play some ball this season.

By the time George returns, Rodney will have cemented himself into the starting SG position and the go-to-guy for the Pacers. Remember Wally Pipp?

Having a hard time wrapping my head against your reference: is it up or down? Is it for Stuckey or George? Within a games of games, let us remember, we are not talking first base territory. To move fluidly between PG and SG takes (as in the case of Yossarian) that magic sum of..."that is some Catch 22".
As evidence of my confusion, most might go here to understand your reference:

Well, Wally Pipp sat out a game with a headache and his replacement, a guy by the name of Lou Gehrig, took his spot and never missed a game for over 15 years. The moral to the story is that you better suck it up when you are nursing a little injury or you may lose your position. Of course, Paul George's broken leg is a little more serious than Pipp's headache and the idea that Stuckey would permanently replace Paul George when he returned was made in jest.

(Okay, now you have to explain the 2,000 posts of yours that I don't understand. :))

I'd feel better if Bill Laimbeer retracted his comment about Wally Pip.

Detroit Pistons tap Tim Hardaway as assistant coach - ESPN

    Some interesting notes:

Detroit also hired Malik Allen as an assistant coach, Jeff Nix as an assistant general manager and Quentin Richardson as director of player development. Jon Ishop was named director of sports medicine and Anthony Harvey was hired as strength and conditioning coach.

Arnie Kander will remain as the team's physical therapist, and Mike Abdenour will serve in a newly created administrative role as director of team operations.

(Also, I would like to retract my comment about Wally Pipp.)

Tim Hardaway knows a little something about playing PG in the NBA. Perhaps he can teach Jennings a few things?

I guess Jason Collins won't be in Piston gear anytime soon.

Agree with the article's final point. Mike seems to have got a promotion, or at least a title to represent what he does anyway, but not so sure with Arnie, basically because they brought in another guy.

Maybe they just identified that Arnie's strength is in injury prevention and recovery and they want him to focus on that and spend more time with each player, rather than get distracted by other things. This is probably a good move from what we have all read about his ability in these areas.

Either way, they will be basically doing the same job with new titles and it's good that SVG has kept these Pistons stalwarts on!

Bowser is relentless. He's bringing in the former Orlando GM as our D-League coach.

Wow, that's bizarre considering Otis Smith has never coached a day in his life at any level.
