I have no idea. I will say I am sure he wants to, just like I want to do things I used to do, rehab is frustrating because it is slow, and my experience is that we're all biased to believe we're more recovered than we actually are.

Yea. Seems like they gave him an extra year - probably since this year will be a red shirt. Smart, long term thinking there.

    I agree.
The entire contract is to normalize a recovery period. Pistons say: "we like you and your potential has no limits; however, injury recover is best left up to the recovery experts. It is a slow process outside of your subjective status and when the time comes for floor activity, small doses rule".

Teams are also cottoning on to the idea of offering 2nd round picks extra years as team options like we've seen with Chandler Parsons. The Rockets were able to lock him up for 4 years at a ridiculously underpaid level because he was a 2nd round pick that became a star.

FT shooting is sooooo boring, but it makes a huge difference in close games. The Pistons have to address this issue if they have any hope of contending.

There is no way Dinwiddie is going to moderate the forum much less perform an update. You are soooo ahead of him. #riseandgrind

Change the rules. Let the fouled player go one on one twice with the player who fouled him.

Or perhaps the fouled player spins a wheel of chance that will tell which of many options (half-court shot for 10 points, windmill dunk for 3 points, etc.) he has to take.

Fouled player places his leg on the wall and is rewarded with a point for each vertical foot attained.

Monroe is slow-footed and low to the ground," Grantland's Zach Lowe wrote. "...He has trouble containing pick-and-rolls and challenging shots at the rim — a killer combination of liabilities."
That sounds harsh, but the stat sheet says the assessment is accurate.
Monroe allowed opposing pick-and-roll screeners to shoot 56.6 percent from the field, per Synergy. While he's more of a center than a power forward in today's NBA, he had trouble defending either spot. Opposing 4s compiled an unsightly 21.2 player efficiency rating against him, via 82games.com, while centers racked up a 17.2 PER.

The longer Monroe goes unsigned, the cheaper he gets. Perhaps Detroit could sign him for $40 million / 4 years.

That might even be a little high for a bench player.

If you are Monroe, do you take $40 million/4 years from the Pistons or do you play out this year at $5.5 million with Detroit and hope for something better next summer?

I think he may compromise like a 2 year $20 million deal. Its less risk for Monroe and he can try again or be moved next year.
