We have no offense Fishy. I'm not sure MSU can beat Youngstown.. They score lots of points. Unless maybe Damion Terry plays. The defense can't keep holding people under 14.
Have you watched the games. It's horrible. MSU can't outscore Notre Dame. Michigan had there hands full against them. Right now Im guessing my boys go 4-8. If they can't even come close to scoring against Southern Florida who CAN they outscore? Purdue?

Think Michigan defense...1997. Think Bears defense...1985. Think Minnesota defense early 70s........
Your team shouldn't give up many points...for the first 8 games.

I don't think michigan will be too much different from whatever happens in the first 8 games if that's what u mean. They seem to have a much better team than my team but Sparty will play it a little tougher than the others I think.

I was just comparing your MSU defense to some fabled defenses of the past.

Have read Terry was out with strep throat. Hope he gets well soon.

completely unrelated: Why do the Eagles have the little tag in front of threads but the Spartans do not?

Michigan State 24-14 Youngstown. The game is delayed for the 3rd time in a row while Dantonio tries to decide on a quarterback. (If Cook struggles too much we see Terry. I'm guessing Cook does just enough to keep the job until Notre Dame hammers Sparty).

Michigan 52-7 Akron. The line is a about 37. Akron scores a fluke touchdown). 2nd stringers are excited knowing they will get to join in the massacre. 3rd stringers hopeful. After the game, Michigan State lets out a collective sigh of relief that they don't have to face that powerful offense...of Akron's.

Nemo, you either recently sustained a head injury or you have.a sick sense of humor. Are u serious? How can you possibly really think that. Hell, when the good teams come around, how can MSU win?

Our offense will not score and even if our defense does, they cannot outscore the other teams offense and the other team's defense. Even if our defense is perfect the offense will give up some pick sixes or something. All kidding aside, I'm sure you've seen the games. The offense is horrible. Absolutely horrible.

I actually do. What good is a victory if you can't enjoy the games. A 6-6 chumps Bowl is meaningless time. I'd rather enjoy the season, which I won't if all the games against other bad teams are 10-7 or 7-28 against the good ones. I don't believe you really think MSU will win their share. Tell me how the receivers will stop dropping passes even IF we do find a quarterback?

By definition, an ugly win occurs when the winning team doesn't deserve the victory.
You pick the foul up...dropped passes, fumbles, doesn't matter.

So that is how MSU will be 8-0. Sounds like a boatload of fortune.

    Well...let's see.

    32 first downs
    545 offensive yards
    170 defensive yards surrendered
    22-32 passing with 271 yards
    only 2 team penalties.....

Sounds like a bad team to me.............

    Gotta bag that dust ruffle..........

A satisfying win for the Spartans. First of the season. Nice to see them score some points even against a nobody team. Notre Dame is next. The first real challenge. If MSU can continue to score that they have a chance.

Yes, it was only Youngstown. At least now we know State is capable of putting points up with the offense. Cook looked decent, backs looked good, and the receivers actually held on to a few passes. The D seemed like it was sleepwalking a little.

On to South Bend to see what this team has got
