We plan to start a fantasy baseball league VERY soon. It would be nice to see you two illiterates join for a change.

I don't want to hijack this thread, so I'll start a new one. Please check it out.

Avril would get $11M if FranT.
as always the money is obscene.
    I'd go 4 years $32M
I can't see Tron getting more than $19M per.

2010 CBA is obsolete. The 2012 CBA is capped to stop unbridled inflation. Guys thinking they'll get big money need to walk.
Two days ago they said they wouldn't tag Avril !
He could make 10.6M one season. Just tagging him doesn't mean he'll get the money. It gives the team time to negotiate before unbridled free agency.
Draft picks become more valuable now---cheaper.

Tagging Avril was the right thing to do. They had to protect their investment....for at least one year.

Nice of the high paid players to restructure their contracts so that their pay is spread out over time as bonuses.

With that said.......the 49ers just signed Randy Moss to an incentive laiden contract.
That's signifigant since Megamoney is scheduled to make 21 million next season.
Even long term contract........he'll command 15 million from somebody.

My guess is that Moss will have a decent season this year, at a fraction of the cost of Megamoney.
I will state now that Moss may be considered the better buy by the end of this season..........

Wow.........WRs are being bought off at premium prices. Imagine what Calvin Johnson would fetch on the open market right now. Just think of all the draft picks and / or players we could get for that guy.

Money well-spent for one of the most gifted and level-headed players in football. And, the contract frees up cap room.

This new breed of Lions wants to win, now

I am sure that Megatron is worth a lot of dough, but here is another ball player in cash strapped Detroit getting a long term big payday (Prince Fielder in January)....not to mention CV and BG. I guess the rich suburbanites can help pay for those tickets so the players can get their guaranteed money down the line. All of those teams better excel over the next few years to make those paychecks worthy of handing out.

They owed him $22M just for this year.
As for that contract...WOW ! WOW WEEE !
He better average 150 yd and 1.25 TDs a game.
If he didn't have a good QB what would he be worth ?

It's really crazy to think that he makes $1.375M per football game and per touchtown. Just showing up to work is like winning the lottery for him.

He gets about $13K for every yard he gains.
