Lions Stat of the day....only 3 penalties for 27 yards....and no personal fouls.....for team that averaged what appeared to be 10 penalties for 75 yards a game last year, this was huge since they had a rough off the field summer.

At least the replacement refs didn't have any built in prejudices from last year...

When was this other 5% that you speak of?
I remember Eric Hipple having that one good Monday night game many years ago but other than that...

I heard his name mentioned once, but can't remember what it was for, but overall no silly/dumb penalties that they were famous for in the past...two years ago or even last year, some one would have been called for a hold, off sides on that winning TD that would have negated the catch and score by Kevin Smith,.....because that what the Lions do!!!

TaShawn has a recurring dream of Joe Montana playing for the Lions.

A guy was trash-talking, so Titus head-butted him....got a 15-yard penalty. Schwartz didn't start him in the 3rd quarter. I think that qualifies for silly/dumb. You're right about it not costing the team, at least.

Bobby Lane was before my time.
I was a toddler when Greg Landry was leading the team to playoff exits.
Eric Kramer should have his number retired as he is the only guy in my lifetime to a win a postseason game.

Notice that it is a Western Conference Champions shirt that he is using to get laid.

Well Lions look to get embarrassed tomorrow at S.F.
9ers are a better run org. and the head start they have----sound D and O should vault them into the S.B.
Schwartz and co. have a long way to go. Mayhew needs to value CBs as playmakers and draft a 1st rounder.
    Or more.
    Sunday-nite game so enhanced media.
I don't know that we can beat them but even if we play a smart game I don't think the D can stop them.
9ers only weak link is QB and that's not weak. Smith is only getting stronger.

Schwartz and his mad passing attack ---- 16
    Gores --- 28

So many chances, but the offensive game plan went conservative as if Bo was coaching the Lions. Once Stafford thru the pick, they stuck to the ground game more so than often....The passes were short of the players and first down markers.

Letting the Niners rule that 4th qtr by pulling out all of those 3rd down ops exposed the secondary.

Besides the pick that Stafford threw, the other penalty mistakes were the running into kicker that added 4 more points on the board instead of the three that niners had secure on the FG. The defense had a big stop in the backfield that was negated by a facemask. ...any oh yeah Mr. reliable or "Legatron" missed a FG when the ball bounced off the goal posts. Bottom line both teams scored five times, but Lions came up short by 8 points.....:cheeky-smiley-012:

Strong showing on the road. That first of the 3 straight 3rd down conversions was really a great play. Without, the 9ers would have been in a bit of trouble.

TheLions played well enough to beat any other team...but the forty-niners played just well enough to tell the Lions that you can't beat us no matter how many chances you might get.

A win on the road next week vs Tennessee will get them back on target..
