Valiant comeback by the Wolverines after being down 21 points in the first half, but after tying the game at 46 with about 3 mins left, they opted for 3 pt jump shots instead o going inside like the Buckeyes did. No one expected Michigan to comeback and win the game after being blown out in first ten minutes and down 27-6, but to make it all the way back and then try to win on threes was poor execution in IMO . Even when they were down 52-50 with less than 20 seconds I would gone for two and possible and 1 as opposed to the dagger hope I make it three.... Possible # 1 ranking goes by the wayside they probably drop to 5 or 6 unless the voters reward them for making a good comeback.
As expected, the Wolverines drop to 5 as both the coaches and writers feel that despite the big comeback, they should have never fallen that far behind if they were a top 2 team. Next up is # 9 Minnesota...also on the road, so there could be two losses before the next rankings come out next Monday. However a win there and they should move ahead of Kansas unless they have two impressive wins over Baylor and Texas this week. Doesn't matter. It's all about the tournament. 3 #8 seeds have played in the Championship game and 1 won the whole thing. 2 years ago, it was the 3, 4, 8, and 11 seeds that met in the final four.
