The Spartans kickoff the season November 11 against The University of North Carolina Tarheels... ...in San Diego on the flight deck of USS Carl Vinson 2011 Quicken Loans Carrier Classic
Hopefully the team plays better this year. Sooooo...it could start out to be a home game at tip off time but end up being an away game by the 4th quarter? It may give new meaning to the term "dunking the ball". I'm sorry. Obviously I have nothing better to do with my time now that we've found Rascoe in that dumpster.

Oh yeah. . I haven't had any time to make the transition over in my mind from football. You guys don't miss anything. It's like having 40 [STRIKE]Laimbeers[/STRIKE] hall monitors running around policing the place.
A rhetorical question: How many opposing defenders would Rodney Stuckey send overboard if the Pistons ever got the opportunity to play on a boat.
That all depends on how many times he loses control of the ball causing the other team to "dive" [STRIKE]overboard[/STRIKE] out of bounds after it. Actually a pretty good strategy. Smart guy, that Stuckey.
Nice recruitment tool for possible candidates. Let them fly it around the campus a few times. Pilot pictured looks like a geek............ [STRIKE] I'd fill it up with water balloons and make a pass over the dorms........ [/STRIKE]
Nobody has offered a prediction on the outcome of this game. I don't follow college Bball too much, but I hear that bunch from North Carolina is pretty good.
Sparty held with them for awhile but then the Tar Heels closed out the half with big double digit run and it was sparty trying to play catchup from there. MSU looked good in controlling the boards, but the internal D by NC would never allow them to penetrate and their outside shots weren't falling in the decisive first half close out. Not sure if the Wolverines have theit own 2011 thread yet, but they had a much easier first game opponent in Ferris State.. Although I will have my droid and tablet with me, I probably won't post any more until the end of the month as I am bon voyaging to the medirranean on a long 10 day cruise...hopefully when I return both the Wolverines and Spartans have at least 5 vicitories and the Pistons have already have 2-3 games under their belt win or lose....ciao!!!
Yeah, they are good. All 5 starters have the potential to enter next summer's NBA draft. Roy Williams has to despise that aspect of his successful recruiting program. Great news for Izzo this past week as he got commitment from 5-star 6'4" SG Gary Harris (ranked #1 SG in the nation by ESPNU) and pushed MSU's 2012 recruiting class up to 4th best in the nation. Harris combines good shooting and the ability to drive to the rim with good defense. He's only 16 right now so there's a chance he'll get even taller before he gets to campus. http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/classrankings?&action=login&appRedirect=http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/recruiting/classrankings Izzo also has a pretty decent shot at landing current #1 overall 2013 recuiting class prospect, 6'8" SF Jabari Parker. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/100708/order/false
