    Re: Summer league?

We're always looking for an extra set of hands, but at this time, BBSC is being run by the forum staff. We've put out some feelers for contributors but the only respondents have been staff.

Of course, anyone who would like to participate is welcome. They just have to send me a PM.

I'll be making an announcement about the blog later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Is Taquan Dean on any Summer league team yet?

if not, we should pick him up and see how he does.

I am excited to see how the "big three" of MSU does in summer camp. I will be tracking their stats as well as the Pistons games of course.

Hmmm. I really liked his game at Loiusville. Could be what the Pistons need.

    Rockets vs Blazers VSL

The Houston Rockets held on for a 88-82 win against the Portland Trailblazers after getting off to a fast 25-11 start.

Top 10 pick Brandon Roy of the Portland Trailblazers scored 12 and dished out 8 assists. However 2nd pick LaMarcus Aldridge had a bad start in the VSL by scoring 8 points and grabbing only 3 rebounds. 2nd round pick Steve Novak of the Houston Rockets took it to Aldridge as he scored 22 and grabbed 5 rebounds.

Martell Webster tried to carry the Blazers on his back with 29 points, but the Rockets had 3 players get plus 20 points en route to the win. The Blazers outscored the Rockets bench 38-0 in defeat.

Ron Artest and Kevin Martin anchoring the Kings? On one hand its cool to see a star rubbing elbows with the prospects...on the other, what is he doing there?

    Re: Summer league?

I ordered Courtside live and as far as day 1 material went, it pretty much sucked. The camera never stayed on one person long enough to get any idea of who they were much less what they were about.

The Day 1 clip had 60% crowd shots of people. You got a quick snippet of a guy dribbling a ball and then 10 sec of george karl in the stands. Pff. I can identify mr. karl in 3 sec. Piss poor framing with equally bad editing.

I wish that they would get one of them UNLV film school students to shoot the footage and if they did, their counsellor should gently ease them into accounting or law cuz this sure as hell ain't their calling.

I'd like to know if they were quality fouls. I'm super high on Bargnani. The Magician might be the real deal and not an illusion.

    Re: Summer league?

What about Nik Caner-Medley? Are the Pistons hiding him? Why did he get so little playing time in the summer league? I think he has a great upside?

    Re: Summer league?

Caner-Medley could be a definite dark horse to make the roster. All the Pistons can spend is minimum contracts anyway, and Caner-Medley seems to be the kind of hard worker they would want behind Delfino and Prince.

He is definitely not afraid to mix it up inside and get physical.

Then again, he could easily get a contract overseas, so his options are open. The money overseas may be attractive.

    Re: Summer league?

he would be a great practice player and nbdl candidate. I am liking the progress of acker. he would get more experience overseas but i think he'd be worth stashing.
