to finish with a better record than the Tones.

Pistons got 6 road games left out of 12 including at Miami,

After Thursday the Tones only have 3 road games left against garbage teams.

So it all comes down to what the Tones due in L.A. tonight and Thursday.

If the Clips and Lakers can put it to them giving the Pistons a 4 game edge in the loss column assuming the Pistons can handle the 76s and Bucks this week then they have a good chance of finishing ahead of the Tones.

But if the Pistons are only one up in the loss column after this week then it is going to be tough to hang on because I don't see the Tones losing again after this week.

The Cubans are now 3 back of the Pistons and 1 back of the Tones. They still have to play at the Tones, Suns, Clips and James Gang so I don't think the Cubans got a chance to finish with the best record.

Tones won both games in L.A. this week convincingly. Flipper better make sure the Pistons move it into playoff form starting this weekend and keep it there if the Pistons expect to finish with the best record this year.

I don't expect the Tones to lose again during the regular season. They have only one tough game left and that is at home against the Cubans which they should take care of.

Foretunately the Pistons beat the Tones twice this year so in the event of regular season tie the Pistons will have the home court advantage.

Since I expect the Tones to go undefeated the rest of the way, barring any key injuries, that means that the Pistons can not lose more than two more games the rest of the year if they want the home court advantage for the Finals.

Of course all of this is problematic at this point anyway because there is no assurance that both will meet in the Finals and of course the team with the home court advantage does not always win the Finals.

Since SA now has to beat us by 3 games from here to the finish line, here are a couple of ways that they could do it.

    SA- 11-0
    Det- 8-3

    SA- 10-1
    Det- 7-4

    SA- 9-2
    Det 6-5

    Etc.

So, it should be easy for the Pistons to hold them off.
